Ceiling Lights
Pendant lights hang from the ceiling to give a room a focal point and layered light. Choose by size, hanging height and color temperature. How to choose the right size
Pendant light buying guide
Start with the room: add its length and width in feet, and read the total as inches for a starting diameter. Over a dining table, aim for about one-half to two-thirds of the table's width, and hang the fixture 30–36 inches above the tabletop.
How high should a pendant hang?
About 30–36 inches above the table for an 8-foot ceiling, and a little more for taller ceilings.
What size pendant do I need?
Add the room's length and width in feet; that number in inches is a good starting diameter.
Can I install a pendant without an electrician?
Plug-in pendants hang from a hook and plug into an outlet. Hardwired pendants should be installed by a qualified electrician.
